www.kcrw.com/news-culture/shows/the-treatment/mike-mignola-hellboy-in-hellComic book artist Mike Mignola created Hellboy, a well-meaning demon that has been described as smelling of dry-roasted peanuts, for Dark Horse Comics in 1994. Now of legal drinking age, Hellboy's been through a lot, and it shows. In his latest book series, Hellboy in Hell, the character has visibly aged. Mignola, who never thinks of himself as a writer even now, says that a lot of the dialogue he writes for his characters come from conversations he's having with himself. "He's so much me," Mignola says, "There's so much of me in that character."
