Food Network Star Duff Goldman to Launch YouTube Channel with CDS
Duff Goldman, celebrity baker and Food Network personality, will launch a food and cooking brand and channel on YouTube in partnership with Collective Digital Studio.
Goldman’s YouTube channel will launch with up to three weekly shows, including one in which he will create his signature, customized cakes for YouTube stars. In addition, the content lineup is slated to include how-to videos, pranks and baking fails. Goldman currently appears in Food Network shows “Duff Till Dawn” and “Kids Baking Championship,” after hosting long-running series “Ace of Cakes” on the cabler.
“As I continue my next chapter, I have that desire to reach new audiences with creative, interactive programming centered around food and cooking, and YouTube was the place I had to be,” said Goldman, executive chef of Baltimore-based Charm City Cakes.
But with the YouTube channel, he said, “We’re not making television… that’s the biggest mistake people make.”
In addition to partnering with Collective Digital Studio on his channel, Goldman signed on to CDS’ multichannel network, which comprises more than 900 channels. CDS will work with Goldman to program and produce content for the channel.
“Food is huge on YouTube, and there’s such opportunity for a personality like Duff, who already has a strong following and has built his brand on innovation, to create new and interesting programming,” CDS president Dan Weinstein said. “We are creating content specific for this world… YouTube is a very personality-driven site, and we are striving to keep that ethic.”
Goldman, in addition to his Food Network shows and Charm City Cakes business, is also a graffiti artist, metal sculptor and musician and has a DIY home-products line, Duff Goldman by Tylina Foods. Goldman is repped by CAA.
CDS, founded in 2011, is best known for producing “Video Game High School” with RocketJump as well as TV shows for “The Annoying Orange,” “Epic Meal Time” and Lucas Cruikshank’s “Fred.”
