THR describes Legendary's acquisition as the result of a "competitive bidding war." Rucka is set to write the pilot episode, and to serve as an executive producer with Lark and Tolmach, the latter a former Columbia Pictures exec who worked as a producer on "Amazing Spider-Man" and its 2014 sequel. This marks another addition to Legendary Television's growing slate. The company currently has sci-fi drama "Colony" in the works at the USA Network, and comedy series "Love" with a two-season commitment from Netflix. "Lazarus" debuted in June 2013, and is set in a dystopian future ruled by wealthy families. The main character is Forever Carlyle -- the genetically enhanced "Lazarus" of the Carlyle family. The series has received widespread critical acclaim, and ranked No .7 in CBR's Top 100 Comics of 2014.
