Under the deal, Levi will continue to develop Tuned, a half-hour musical comedy he set up at NBC and Universal TV earlier this development season. The project, a potential starring vehicle for Levi, was written by Deborah Kaplan and Harry Elfont, with Levi executive producing alongside Eva Longoria, whose UnbeliEVAble banner also has a deal at Uni TV. (Levi has displayed his musical skills on Broadway and in his voiceover work on the Disney movie Tangled.) Additionally, Levi will guest star on Longoria’s new straight-to-series NBC/Uni TV comedy Telenovela. He also will option and develop new projects for the studio. “Zachary Levi is an extraordinary entertainer on every level, with great taste and smart instincts,” said Universal TV EVP Bela Bajaria. “We are fortunate to be working with him on our drama Heroes Reborn and can’t wait to see what exciting projects come from our new deal with him.” Levi, best known for starring in the NBC dramedy Chuck and for playing Fandral in Thor: The Dark World, is repped by CAA, Principato Young and McKuin, Frankel Whitehead.
