Meanwhile, “Into the Woods” bowed at number two, while “Strobe Edge,” Ryuchi Hiroki’s teen love-triangle drama based on the popular Io Sakisaka comic, earned $2.74 million in its opening frame for the number three spot. Distributor Toho expects the film to finish with JPY2.5 billion ($20.6 million). “American Sniper” slipped four ranks to number six, taking $985,000 to raise its cumulative score to $14.8 million, while “The Imitation Game” debuted at number eight. At number nine, “Big Hero 6” on its 13th weekend on release, drove its total box office to JPY9.04 billion ($74.5 million) on 7.11 million admissions.
