Disney XD’s ‘Lab Rats’ Launches Season 4 With New Title & New Location
Disney XD’s “Lab Rats” kicks off its fourth season with a new title: “Lab Rats: Bionic Island.”
Season four of the series, which centers around a group of super-powered teens, also has a new location — a training facility on a remote island. The fresh setting brings higher stakes to the missions undertaken by Leo (Tyrel Jackson Williams), Chase (Billy Unger), Adam (Spencer Boldman) and Bree (Kelli Berglund).
“Lab Rats” creators and exec producers Chris Peterson and Bryan Moore (pictured with the cast) tell Variety that they implemented changes to keep things fresh for their audience.
“By giving our fourth season a new title and location, we can bring our core concept of bionic humans to a whole new world,” the EPs said. “Within that new world, our viewers will meet new characters and discover surprising elements that will affect the overall mythology of our series.”
Entering season four, “Lab Rats” is Disney XD’s top-rated comedy.
“Each season, our show gets a little bigger, and this is by far our biggest season yet,” Peterson and Moore added. “Viewers can expect more bionic action, more fun stories and more surprises than ever before. Our viewers are extremely loyal, and we like to provide them with as many twists and turns as we can.”
The new season will also feature an episode with special guest star Leo Howard (Disney XD’s “Kickin’ It”), plus a crossover episode with the net’s superhero comedy “Mighty Med.”
Angel Parker and Maile Flanagan play recurring characters, and Will Forte lends his voice to the role of Eddy.
“Lab Rats” is produced by It’s A Laugh Productions.
Season four of “Lab Rats: Bionic Island” premieres March 18 with an hourlong special episode.
