Variety reports that Warner Bros. will release the buddy comedy "Central Intelligence" with The Rock and Kevin Hart on June 17th, 2016.
Hart plays a former high school sports star-turned-accountant that's contacted by a former classmate (The Rock) who was bullied and humiliated as a teen. The Rock's character is now a CIA contract killer, who ropes Hart's character into helping foil a plot to sell classified military secrets.

The studio has also moved its detective thriller “The Nice Guys,” starring Russell Crowe and Ryan Gosling, forward a month, vacating the June 17, 2016, date in favor of May 20. “We’re the Millers” filmmaker Rawson Marshall Thurber is directing “Central Intelligence.” Scott Stuber will produce through his Bluegrass Films banner, along with Peter Principato and Paul Young of Principato-Young Entertainment. “The Hangover” star Ed Helms is exec producing. Hart plays a former high school sports star-turned-accountant contacted by a classmate (Johnson) who was bullied and humiliated as a teen but is now a CIA contract killer, who proceeds to rope him into helping foil a plot to sell classified military secrets. “Central Intelligence” will open against Disney’s “Finding Dory.” “The Nice Guys” will launch against Sony’s “Angry Birds.”

The film centers on a mild-mannered accountant (Hart) who hears from a former classmate (Johnson) who was bullied in high school. The guy the accountant remembers as a loser now kills for the CIA and talks him into helping thwart a plot to sell military secrets. Ed Helms and Bobby Brown co-star in the film. which Rawson Marshall Thurber is directing from a script by Ike Barinholtz and David Stassen. Nicolet will play Maggie, the wife of Hart’s character who was his high school sweetheart. The actress recurs on The Game, and other recent credits include Family Tools, Key & Peele and Elementary. Nicolet is repped by Innovative Artists and Link.

Ryan will play the CIA operative who is chasing Johnson’s character. She joins The Game‘s Danielle Nicolet, who will play Hart’s wife and childhood sweetheart. Rawson Marshall Thurber is directing from a script by Ike Barinholtz and David Stassen. Scott Stuber will produce through his Bluegrass Films banner. Ryan has plenty busy. She has Steven Spielberg’s Bridge Of Spies coming out October 16 and also is in thriller The Infiltrator opposite Bryan Cranston, co-stars in Joachim Trier’s English-language debut Louder Than Bombs, Sony’s Goosebumps and Jared and Jarusha Hess’ Sundance pic Don Verdean. She is repped by Gersh and attorney Dave Feldman.
