www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/cws-izombie-make-canadian-debut-781171Warner Bros. International Television Distribution has signed an exclusive distribution deal with Canadian subscription video on demand service Shomi to get The CW's iZombie into Canada for the first time. Rob Thomas and Diane Ruggiero-Wright's supernatural crime procedural, based on the DC Comics title of the same name, will bypass traditional TV channels north of the border when it debuts March 18 on Shomi. Each new episode will be available for streaming one day after its CW broadcast. iZombie is the latest U.S. acquisition from Shomi, a joint venture between Rogers Media and Shaw Media, as it looks to compete against Netflix Canada and another local streamer, CraveTV. The SVOD's other Canadian exclusives include Amazon's Transparent and Mozart in the Jungle. iZombie, shot in Vancouver, stars Rose McIver as Liv, a medical student-turned-zombie. The series is produced by Bonanza Productions, in association with Spondoolie Productions and Warner Bros. Television. iZombie premieres on The CW on March 17 at 9 p.m.
