spinoff.comicbookresources.com/2015/03/12/disney-officially-announces-frozen-sequel/Surprising no one, Disney has officially announced it’s developing a sequel to “Frozen,” the 2013 animated movie the grossed $1.27 billion worldwide and left millions of children singing “Let It Go,” over and over again. Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee will return to direct. The news arrived today during the same call with investors in which CEO Bob Iger revealed details about “Star Wars: Rogue One” and “Episode VII.” Although there’s no word yet as to whether Idina Menzel, Kristen Bell, Jonathan Groff and Josh Gad will reprise their roles, Gad joined Disney Animation’s John Lasseter for the sequel announcement. Disney is already keeping the “Frozen” momentum going with “Frozen Fever,” an animated short that premieres this week with the live-action “Cinderella.” The entire voice cast returned for that seven-minute story, which centers on a surprise birthday party for Anna. “We enjoyed making ‘Frozen Fever’ so much and being back in that world with those characters,” Lasseter said. “Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck have come up with a great idea for a sequel and you will be hearing a lot more about it and we’re taking you back to Arendelle. We are so excited about that.” No release date was announced.
