variety.com/2015/film/news/french-actor-lambert-wilson-set-to-emcee-cannes-film-festival-1201450688/PARIS — Following his colorful and eloquent performance at last year’s Cannes Film Festival, French actor Lambert Wilson (“Of Gods and Men”) has been tapped again as master of ceremonies for the 68th edition of the festival. As previously announced, the competition jury will be headed by Joel and Ethan Coen, while Abderrahmane Sissako will serve as president of the short film and Cinefondation jury. “At the end of the awards ceremony in which ‘Winter Sleep’ by Nuri Bilge Ceylan garnered the prize, the actor concluded with the following words: ‘The world is written in an incomprehensible language, but cinema helps us translate it universally. Without its guiding light, everyone would be stuck in the dark of the night,'” recalled the festival in its official announcement. Wilson delivered a memorable performance on opening night, when he took Nicole Kidman, the star of “Grace of Monaco,” by surprise for an improvised dance. The festival will take place from May 12-24.
