But few know TV chef Anthony Bourdain’s non-culinary secret talent: writing fiction. He penned a graphic novel for DC Comics/Vertigo Get Jiro! and now his first novel, the culinary mystery Bone In The Throat, has become a film with an intriguing cast comprised of Ed Westwick, Tom Wilkinson, Andy Nyman and Vanessa Kirby. It world premieres at SXSW on Saturday at the Alamo Ritz. Bone In The Throat follows a young ambitious chef who while showing off his culinary skills, finds himself trapped as a witness to a murder in his own kitchen. He gets pulled into the East End London mob by his uncle who expects him to step up and join the family business. He now has to work quickly to undo his uncle’s mess, while staying alive and out of jail. The film was written by Graham Henman and Mark Townend and directed by Henman. It is executive produced by Bourdain, Ron Perlman, and Jamie Donaldson, and produced by Lenny Beckerman, Maggie Monteith, and Nick Thurlow. Gersh is handling domestic sales while Hyde Park reps foreign. Check out the exclusive trailer above.
