variety.com/2015/digital/news/hulu-gets-the-wiggles-in-another-exclusive-kidvid-pact-1201446496/Hulu has picked up another kids’ show, this one from Down Under: “Ready, Steady, Wiggle!” season two, featuring the popular Australian preschooler music group. The streaming service entered into an exclusive pact with Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) for the series, which will debut in the U.S. exclusively on Hulu’s subscription video-on-demand service. In addition, Hulu will offer all 104 episodes of “Ready, Steady, Wiggle!” on the SVOD service — available without any ads. The deal comes after Hulu inked a deal with Disney-ABC Television Group for exclusive SVOD rights to Disney Junior’s acclaimed animated series “Doc McStuffins.” Hulu also has exclusive U.S. SVOD rights to CGI-animated preschool series “Zou,” from France’s Cyber Group Studios. The Wiggles, which were founded in 1991, have provided popular kidvid fare for several generations of TV viewers in their homeland of Australia, as well as the U.S. and elsewhere. Current members of the group are Anthony Field (“Blue”), Simon Pryce (“Red”), Emma Watkins (“Yellow”) and Lachlan Gillespie (“Purple”). Among SVOD providers in the States, competition for kids’ fare has stepped up. Netflix last week announced deals for five new children’s shows, including reboots of “Danger Mouse” and “Inspector Gadget.” And Amazon renewed its four initial kid shows, including “Creative Galaxy” from Angela C. Santomero (“Blue’s Clues”), for second runs.
