www.newsarama.com/23619-andrea-sorrentino-signs-exclusive-with-marvel.htmlAnother comics professional has made his Marvel. Marvel announced Tuesday that Italian artist Andrea Sorrentino has signed an exclusive agreement with Marvel. The artist, who rose to fame as artist on DC's Green Arrow with Jeff Lemire, has been working recent months primarily for Marvel, and has been announced as the artist of the high-profile Old Man Logan miniseries with Brian Michael Bendis timed to coincide with Secret Wars. “I’m very, very excited about this new chapter of my career,” says Andrea Sorrentino in a press release. “I’ve always been a huge fan of Marvel characters and I’m thrilled at what is coming in the next couple years now that I’ve joined the family full-time.” The exact terms and length of the contract remain unknown, but in general the exclusive agreeements by both Marvel and DC are to offer enhanced job security for creators and higher page rate in exchange for an agreement to not to work with with their chief competitor, in this case DC. Past creators under these "exclusive" deals have worked simultaneously with other publishers both on a creator-owned and work-for-hire basis, but not Marvel or DC respectively. “Andrea brings a completely unique style to the Marvel Universe,” says Marvel Editor-in-Chief Axel Alonso from the press release. “From his page layouts to his design sensibilities, each and every page is a treat. We’re looking forward to a lot of great things from him. I can’t wait for fans to get their hands on Old Man Logan later this year.”
