AMC Developing International Thriller Drama
AMC has bought for development a spec drama script by Darby Kealey. The project, from Lloyd Braun’s Whalerock Industries and MGM TV Studios, centers on an award-winning actress who is kidnapped by the dictator of a foreign country and becomes the centerpiece of a covert power struggle. (The plot draws some parallels to the current storyline on Scandal.) Thomas Kelly (Copper) serves as showrunner. He executive produces with Braun; Andrew Mittman and Kealey co-executive produce. Kealey is repped by Gersh and Mindframe Films & Management; Thomas Kelly is with WME.
