Jonathan Rhys Meyers Spy Tale ‘Damascus Cover’ Travels to Multiple Territories
LONDON — Carnaby Intl. has inked multiple pre-sales deals on espionage thriller “Damascus Cover,” which stars Jonathan Rhys Meyers and John Hurt.
Company closed deals with Gulf Films (Middle East), PT Prima Cinema (Indonesia), Flins y Piniculas (Spain), Discovery (former Yugoslavia), Mountain Pictures (South Korea) and KRU Group (Malaysia).
Xeitgeist Entertainment Group has boarded the project, joining Big Book Media. Xeitgeist founder, Joe Thomas, takes on a producer role alongside Hannah Leader and Huw Jones.
Set in 1989, the pic focuses on a veteran spy sent undercover in Syria to smuggle a chemical weapons scientist and his family out of Damascus.
Pic, which is directed by Daniel Berk, began principal photography last week in Morocco.
