THE FORMER WWE CASINO IN VEGAS TO BE IMPLODED The 12-story Clarion Hotel & Casino, just off the Vegas Strip, will be imploded early in the morning of 2/10 between between 2 and 3 AM. The casino has gone by many names in the past, though perhaps the best known for it's run as the Debbie Reynolds Hollywood Hotel, and for briefly being owned by WWE for a short time before the company opted tore-sell it instead of going through with their initial plans to give it a WWE-themed makeover. www.sfgate.com/news/article/Implosion-to-take-down-Clarion-Hotel-off-Las-6033804.phpImplosion to take down Clarion Hotel off Las Vegas Strip LAS VEGAS (AP) — The Clarion Hotel and Casino off the Las Vegas Strip is expected to collapse in an early-morning Feb. 10 implosion. Clark County spokesman Dan Kulin said Thursday the planned explosive demolition is scheduled between 2 a.m. and 3 a.m. The 200-room 12-story hotel on 305 Convention Center Dr. sits between the Las Vegas Strip and the convention center in the shadow of the Riviera and Encore hotel casinos. It's been known as the Debbie Reynolds, Greek Isles, Paddlewheel, Royal Americana and Royal Inn. There have been 12 casino-hotel implosions in Las Vegas since 1993. The last casino-hotel implosion took down the New Frontier in November 2007. A part of the Tropicana was imploded in 2010. The hotel's new owner, 305CCD LLC, is led by Las Vegas developer Lorenzo Doumani.
