Dwayne Johnson is attached to star in the MGM supernatural pic, “Seal Team 666.”
Evan Spiliotopoulos is penning the script with Johnson’s former assistant, Hiram Garcia, producing. Johnson will exec produce along with his manager, Dany Garcia, as well as Brendan Deneen and Peter Joseph of Macmillan Films.
Story follows a group of Navy Seals who battle demons and assorted threats and discover that there’s a greater supernatural force bent on destroying the world.
No director is attached and it is unknown when Johnson would fit this into his ever-growing schedule.
Johnson has appeared in four films so far this year (“Snitch,” “G.I. Joe: Retaliation,” “Pain &Gain “and “Furious 6″) with “G.I. Joe: Retaliation” and “Furious 6″ becoming the top-earning installment in both franchises.
He recently wrapped production on MGM and Paramount’s “Hercules” and is currently filming “Fast and Furious 7.”
Johnson is also staying busy on the TV front with his TNT reality show “The Hero” wrapping up its first season. He wrapped production on an untitled HBO pilot about athletes in Miami that Mark Wahlberg is producing.
