A report from the British newspaper The Sun says that 30-year old actress and model Gemma Atkinson is up for the role of Supergirl in the new CBS series produced by Greg Berlanti (Arrow and The Flash). Atkinson has appeared in the British TV series Hollyoaks and Casualty as well as in Night Of The Living 3D Dead as Barbara.
The report says that Atkinson is also up for a role on the British soap opera Emmerdale.
This is the second name to surface in regards to the role of Supergirl, with Claire Holt from the Originals was rumored up for the role about a month back.
The report in the Sun includes comments from an insider that makes it sound like Atkinson would love to play the comic book character but would be happy in the soap opera as well… which makes me think this story may have been put out there to spur the Supergirl producers into action.
And a word of warning… if you are not sure who Gemma Atkinson is and want to Google her… don’t do it at work as the majority of images that come up for her would be border on the NSFW limits.
