Vaughn and Valerie Van Galder will team up to produce. “Ghostgirl,” published in 2008 by Little Brown and Company, centers on a high school senior who is desperate to be popular even after her death. “I am beyond thrilled to have ‘Ghostgirl’ in the hands of such creative, capable and passionate filmmakers,” said Hurley. Vaughn debuted as a director with “Layer Cake,” followed by “Stardust.” He produced “Harry Brown” and “The Debt” and directed, produced and wrote “Kick-Ass,” before writing and directing “X-Men: First Class” and writing and producing “Kick-Ass 2.”
