A 2015 release is planned by Millennium, which is ramping up its distribution slate after recently splitting off from a group of investors including Avi Lerner’s Nu Image. Shira Piven directed the movie, about a fame-obsessed woman who, after winning $86 million in lottery money, decides to spend it on a TV show about herself. Eventually she must decide whether celebrity and recognition really brings happiness. Eliot Laurence wrote the script for the pic, a Bron Studios/Gary Sanchez Production in association with Media House Capital. Wiig also produced with her former SNL cohort Will Ferrell, Adam McKay, Aaron L. Gilbert, Marina Grasic and Jessica Elbaum. Wes Bentley, Linda Cardellini, Joan Cusack, Loretta Devine, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Thomas Mann, James Marsden, Tim Robbins and Alan Tudyk co-star. Jason Resnick negotiated the deal on behalf of Millennium. UTA Independent Film Group and WME Global repped the filmmakers.
