Malia Langen Dies: CBS Comedy Development Coordinator Was 38
Malia Langen, CBS’ TV Comedy Development Coordinator for almost a decade, died today after a battle with leukemia. She was 38.
Langen started with CBS as a page in December 1999 and joined the comedy department in 2002. She was promoted to Comedy Development Coordinator in 2005. Langen, who also received a kidney transplant as a teenager, sat on the boards of two national nonprofit organizations: Renal Support Network and Donate Life Hollywood.
“Malia was an invaluable member of the CBS comedy team, and her enthusiasm for her work was evident to everyone here and in the entire comedy community,” CBS’ Sue Lamphear said today. “She was an integral part of the work we have done over the past 12 years, and her contributions will not be soon forgotten.”
