variety.com/2014/film/news/deli-man-distribution-cohen-media-group-1201360357/Cohen Media Group Dines on Documentary ‘Deli Man’ for U.S. Cohen Media Group has acquired all U.S. distribution rights to “Deli Man,” Erik Greenberg Anjou’s look at Jewish delicatessens in the U.S., Variety has learned exclusively. The documentary will be released in theaters in February. Anjou’s film traces the emergence of delis in the U.S. along with looking at Jewish delis of repute in North America, such as New York’s Katz’s, 2nd Avenue Deli, the Carnegie and the Stage, and Beverly Hills’ Nate ’n Al’s. The film includes interviews with notable deli fans such as Larry King and Jerry Stiller and Houston-based Ziggy Gruber, operator of Kenny and Ziggy’s. Anjou’s credits include “The Klezmatics: On Holy Ground” and “A Cantor’s Tale” — both of which explore the territory between tradition and modernity in American Jewish life. The distribution agreement was negotiated by CMG’s Gary Rubin, Anjou and attorney Stephen Greenwald.
