Gold Circle, HBO, and Playtone announced their plans to head back to the altar in May and have now tapped Nanny McPhee and What to Expect When You’re Expecting helmer Kirk Jones to direct. Vardalos and John Corbett return for the sequel, in which a family secret and an even bigger wedding brings the Portokalos family together again. Universal will distribute in the U.S. and select international territories including Australia/New Zealand, Germany/Austria/Switzerland, Greece, Italy, Latin America, Scandinavia, South Africa, and Spain. Vardalos scripted the sequel, which is produced by Rita Wilson and Playtone’s Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman. Paul Brooks, Scott Niemeyer, Steven Shareshian and Vardalos are executive producers. Good Universe is selling international. Vardalos is repped by APA, Untitled Entertainment, and Del, Shaw, Moonves, Tanaka, Finkelstein & Lezcano. CAA reps Playtone, Wilson, Jones and Gold Circle. Playtone and Wilson are also repped by Loeb & Loeb. Wilson is additionally represented by Untitled Entertainment and Jones by Casarotto Ramsay & Associates in the UK.
