variety.com/2014/film/news/afm-luc-bessons-europacorp-signs-output-deal-with-canadas-vvs-films-1201350610/AFM: Luc Besson’s EuropaCorp Signs Output Deal With Canada’s VVS Films EuropaCorp has inked a multi-year output deal with Canadian distributor VVS Films. Deal, which kicks off with “Transporter Legacy” (set for a June 19, 2015 release), is part of EuropaCorp’s strategy of ensuring the distribution of its titles in key territories, including China (Fundamental), Germany (Universum), Scandinavia (Scandinavia) and Middle East (Gulf Films). The pact with VVS Films also complements EuropaCorp’s new US distribution venture, RED (Relativity EuropaCorp Distribution). EuropaCorp and VVS Films previously partnered on “Brick Mansions” starring the late Paul Walker. “It makes perfect business sense for us to partner with EuropaCorp given the global box office successes of their wholly-developed franchises including ‘Taken,’ ‘Transporter’ and ‘Lucy’ as well as their incredible track record as a commercially-minded, forward thinking production and sales outfit,” said Ernie Grivakis, VVS Films CEO. “VVS Films thrives on high- quality, commercial movies and very few producers can do it as well as EuropaCorp, the European Studio.” Added Christophe Lambert, EuropaCorp CEO, “After the creation of our distribution company in the US, this is a new step to ensure success of EuropaCorp’s English movies.”
