variety.com/2014/tv/news/bad-judge-canceled-a-to-z-1201344661/NBC Ending ‘Bad Judge,’ ‘A to Z’ There will be no grand Hollywood ending for romantic comedy “A to Z” and legal comedy “Bad Judge,” as NBC has announced that neither new series will move beyond its 13-episode commitment. Both shows will stay in their Thursday night timeslots. “Bad Judge” has shot 10 episodes. “A to Z” has shot 11 episodes. Neither comedy was much of a draw from the get-go, with the Kate Walsh-fronted “Bad Judge” doing a 1.3 rating/4 share in adults 18-49 and 5.8 million viewers overall in its premiere, but falling to a 0.9 demo rating last night. And “A to Z” opened with a 1.2/3 and 4.75 million viewers in the half-hour behind it, and dropped to a 0.7 in the demo this week. NBC has struggled to gain a comedy foothold on Thursdays since “The Office” exited. But “Bad Judge” and “A to Z” couldn’t even match last year’s disappointments: “The Michael J. Fox Show” and “Sean Saves the World.” The network will fill the Thursday-at-9 hour starting in February with “The Blacklist.”
