variety.com/2014/biz/news/tokyo-disneyland-set-for-4-6-billion-expansion-1201344067/HONG KONG – Oriental Land, the company that owns Tokyo Disneyland, says it is going to spend $4.59 billion (JPY500 billion) expanding its Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea theme parks. The biggest part of the development will be the doubling of Fantasyland, within Tokyo Disneyland. It may also build a themed port as part of the other park’s Lost River Delta. The ten year plan will also see upgrades to hardware and transport facilities, improved restaurants and means to help guests better resist hot and cold weather. The two parks attracted over 31.2 million visitors in 2013. Financial analysts say they are now at full capacity and need to be upgraded in order to grow.
