Regarding the questions about GLOOW from the other night on WOR, someone wrote in with more information. I'm not sure they want to be named so I'll just post the letter anonymously. Thanks very much to the sender: It was basically a group of local dancers taught to wrestle sprinkled in with some real workers like Mickie James, Simply Lucious, etc. The company was owned by Dan Kowal who was an ECW promoter and Steve O'Nell who does the Extreme stuff now. Steve Karel owned a part of W.E.W with Dan and Greg Bagarozzi (who had some kind of a role in ECW). WEW used a lot of the same girls but had different storylines, more "workers", and did the pay per views. GLOOW later changed its name to Dangerous Women of Wrestling. They ran mostly bar shows but had TV in the area for awhile and had a few big shows here and there. The company that ran at the ECW Arena your question was referring to I believe was Karel's W.E.W. Probably more information than anyone ever cared to know about it.Shimmer runs the Berwyn Eagles club in Illinois. Dave Prazak, runs it out of his Mom's basement. SHINE is a spinoff promotion of FIP,DGUSA and EVOLVE for IPPV.
