Grammy-nominated rapper Wale has plans to host his own wrestling event next year. He revealed the following on Twitter this afternoon:
Wale has two passions in life: music and wrestling. He has been a fixture at WWE events for years and has been talking with Paul Heyman lately. During an interview last month with MLW Radio (MLWRadio.com), Wale revealed that he was being mentored by him.
"He's a smart guy. He gets it," Wale said. "He knows the game. It's always good to get advice from guys like that. He's been so influential on so many guys' careers."
The two converse daily. If not by phone, then at least by text.
Wale is not impressed with WWE these days. He let his frustrations be known during an interview last month on New York's Hot 97 radio station.
"It's been bad, man," he said when DJ Peter Rosenberg asked him about recent episodes of RAW. "You think it will get better, but then you see the top stars, Roman's hurt, Bryan's hurt. What do you do? It almost seems like they're throwing in the towel."
Wale also has qualms with the Divas division.
"They're missing me with that whole division," Wale said. "I want it to be good." Wale admits his admiration for several of the Divas in the division, including Naomi, AJ Lee and Paige, but he takes issue with the E! reality show Total Divas. "[The show's] agenda ... makes it corny."
Wale's favorite wrestler ever is Ultimate Warrior, whose theme song he revealed he uses as his phone's ringtone.
"Warrior was my guy, man," he said. "I like candy and hyper and colors ... it was like cocaine for kids."

As noted earlier, Grammy-nominated rapper Wale is organizing a wrestling show for 2015. Wale revealed on Twitter that the event will take place in New York City, writing: "Wrestling event in NYC soon. Already booked so many suprises . Phone been ringin off the hook"
Paul Heyman has been working closely with the rapper on the idea. While not directly involved, Heyman is advising Wale on the ins and outs of promoting. Heyman has introduced Wale to clubs and arenas, while also recommending wrestlers to Wale. It should be noted that Heyman is not partnering with Wale on the show; he is merely helping a close friend, according to those close to Heyman.
The Wale/Heyman relationship is no secret, as both have openly exchanged tweets for months.
