The film, unfolds over a teen girl’s computer screen as she and her friends are stalked by an unseen figure who seeks vengeance for a shaming video that led a bully to kill herself a year prior. Universal executives bought “Cybernatural” after a test screening in Montreal. WME Global brokered the deal on behalf of the filmmakers. The film was developed and conceived by Timur Bekmambetov and directed by Levan Gabriadze from a script by Nelson Greaves. Producers are Bekmambetov and Greaves, as well as Jason Blum for Blumhouse Productions. Blum, who developed the low-budget “Paranormal Activity,” “Purge” and “Insidious” franchises, signed a 10-year first-look deal with Universal this summer. “Cybernatural” is the fourth title set for April 10 along with Fox’s romancer “The Longest Ride,” TWC’s animated “Underdogs” and Paramount’s Pierce Brosnan action-fantasy “The Moon and the Sun.”
