The series will feature different versions of the crime fighter during the Golden, Silver, Bronze and Modern ages from DC’s comicbooks. New York Comic Con takes place Oct. 9-12 at the Jacob Javits Center. The stamps will be made available through post offices after that. This isn’t the first time Batman is getting his own stamps. He previously appeared on a set in 2006, but with the Caped Crusader turning 75 this year, the U.S. Postal Service felt it was time to bring the character back. “He is the quintessential American superhero,” said Susan McGowan, the Postal Service’s director of stamp services and corporate licensing. “What a great place to celebrate him —- on a stamp. We are always looking for ideas and subjects that are important to America. We all quickly thought, ‘Wow! This will be thrilling.’”
