HONG KONG — Dr. Antony Kidman, father of actress Nicole Kidman, died unexpectedly on Friday in Singapore.
He was in the country on a visit to his other daughter Antonia.
Singapore’s Civil Defence Force received a call for help from Tanglin Club shortly after 8 a.m. local time and applied cardio-pulmonary resuscitation. He was pronounced dead shortly before 10 a.m. at Tan Tock Seng Hospital.
Media reports have said that Dr. Kidman suffered a fall after having a heart attack.
The Kidman family is “in shock and is grieving” following the sudden death of Antony, said Nicole Kidman’s publicist and long-time friend Wendy Day.
Dr. Kidman was a clinical psychologist and director of the health psychology unit at Sydney’s Royal North Shore Hospital. He is also survived by his wife Janelle.
