variety.com/2014/film/news/toronto-anna-kendricks-last-5-years-bought-for-north-america-1201298783/In one of the first deals at the Toronto Film Festival, Radius has taken North American rights on Anna Kendrick-Jeremy Jordan musical “The Last 5 Years.” Radius plans to release the film on Valentine’s Day in the U.S. next year. CAA sold the film at Toronto, which will have its world premiere Sunday at the Ryerson Theater. The film was sold by The Exchange to the U.K., China and most Asian markets in recent months. The film, directed by Richard LaGravenese, is based on Jason Robert Brown’s off-Broadway musical about the demise of a marriage from the perspectives of the successful writer husband and his struggling actress wife. Producers are Lauren Versel of Lucky Monkey Pictures, Kurt Deutsch of Sh-K-Boom Records, Janet Brenner and Richard LaGravenese.

The trailer reveals the structure of the film, beginning as the marriage is ending, going back to the beginning, and then progressing backwards (through Kendrick’s songs) and forwards (through Jordan’s songs).
