While the fate of the Astrodome (site of WrestleMania in 2001) seemed to be demolition, a Harris County judge is attempting to save the famed stadium from the wrecking ball. Previous news indicated voters turned down a plan to remodel the building, which reportedly left it doomed to being destroyed. Judge Ed Emmitt held private meetings in Houston recently concerning the future of the Astrodome. Today (Tuesday) he will apparently announce a new plan to save the building involving public funding and reported involvement with the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo (that currently runs Reliant Stadium for RodeoHouston). Right now there is merely speculation as to what will actually happen. Later today more news should become apparent.
