--- Former TNA Knockout So Cal Val (Paige Nicole Mayo) was arrested and charged with DUI and leaving the scene of an accident with property damage in Orlando, FL on 8/31.She was arrested and released the same day after posting bail of $600. She was later cited and charged with failing to yield to oncoming traffic when making a left turn from that incident. She was scheduled for an arraignment today but that hearing has been canceled and not yet rescheduled.
---TNA is considering taking Impact Wrestling back to a singular location, PWInsider.com has confirmed. There are currently discussions about several different locations the company could film out of regularly as they continue to re-evaluate financially. If the company moves forward with that plan, they would probably pull the trigger after the UK tour at the onset of 2014. The most notable location discussed internally? Orlando, Florida, of course. I don't believe the old Asylum is in the running, but it's possible. The word always was that Dixie Carter wasn't a fan of the venue. Two top candidates said to be under discussion include Orlando (the former home) and Las Vegas. While nothing is official, the belief is that it could go down in early 2014.As reported back in March, TNA taking the Impact Wrestling TV tapings on the road is costing the company an estimated $600,000 to $700,000 per show.
---There's a lot of talk that TNA will be running a major arena in the New York City metropolitan area soon. Obviously, Madison Square Garden is out, which leaves Barclays Center, Nassau Coliseum of the IZOD Center. If we can confirm the venue, we'll report it here.
---TNA has house shows in Texas and Arizona this weekend. On 9/20, they will be running El Paso with TNA champ Bully Ray vs. Samoa Joe, TNA Tag Team champions James Storm & Gunner vs. Chavo Guerrero & Hernandez under Texas Tornado Rules, TNA X-Division champion Manik vs. Christopher Daniels, Austin Aries vs. Bobby Roode, Eric Young vs. Kazarian and Gail Kim vs. ODB announced. On 9/21, TNA will use the same crew, except Manik defends against Kazarian, James Storm faces Hernandez in a singles bout and Young faces Daniels.
---WWE's website reports that The Miz was injured by Randy Orton on last night's RAW. Dr. Chris Amann told WWE reporters that they were doing tests on The Miz but he had a preliminary diagnosis of an upper thoracic injury, a bruised breastbone and bruised collarbone. WWE reported The Miz also had difficulty moving his neck and arm and showed signs of a pinched nerve.
---Dolph Ziggler has earned a future United States Title shot against Dean Ambrose after defeating him in a non-title match on last night's RAW.Ziggler may not get his title shot at next month's Battleground pay-per-view as there is talk of doing a match with The Shield vs. The Rhodes Family at Battleground. The Rhodes team would be made up of Goldust, Cody Rhodes and Dusty Rhodes. WWE using Dusty in the match is still up in the air.
---Take this for what it’s worth, but local advertisements in the Boston area for the 2013 WWE Survivor Series pay-per-view are currently listing Daniel Bryan vs. Randy Orton as well as CM Punk “getting his hands on Paul Heyman, once and for all” as the top billing for the show.
The 2013 WWE Survivor Series pay-per-view emanates from the TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts on Sunday, November 24, 2013.
Before Survivor Series, however, is WWE Battleground, which is the next pay-per-view offering from WWE. WWE Battleground emanates from the First Niagara Center in Buffalo, New York on Sunday, October 6, 2013.
---Jeff Jarrett was backstage at the Impact taping in St. Louis, Missouri this past Thursday. We are told he was involved in the backstage production meeting and was working in something of an agent's role as well. There is a lot of talk that Jarrett is starting to become more involved with the week to week of Impact again, as opposed to working behind the scenes in Nashville on new potential projects and international deals.
--- Sad to report the death of Simon Tapia, aka Mini La Parka in Lucha Libre USA and Mexico, of a heart attack last week at the age of 25. He was the legitimate nephew of LA Park and Super Parka/Volador.
--- No dark match after Raw last night, just a lot of YES! chants.
--- Total Divas was down to 1.06 million viewers for the season finale. No more giant lead-in from the Kardashians, plus it took a minor hit going head-to-head with Night of Champions.
--- WWE on YouTube hit 2 million subscribers yesterday. Nielsen's "SocialGuide" had Raw ranked number 8 in the top ten of most tweets for last week. Problem is, it also ranked Night of Champions but not the Mayweather fight, and there is no way (and I know this because I was following both and it wasn't even close) that Night of Champions had more people tweeting about it than the Mayweather fight. So I'm not sure how Nielsen came up with these numbers.
--- Ken Shamrock is going nuts on Twitter about Dana White again. Haven't seen any responses from Dana yet but I'm sure they're coming.
--- Independent Wrestling Federation LOUD 'n' PROUD action returns to Signature Slam Family Fun Night on Saturday, September 28, 7 pm at Signature Fitness, 471 Cortlandt Street, Belleville, NJ. ---WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross was asked by Ariel Helwani of MMAFighting.com if he was forced out of WWE.
“I think it was… after a good discussion and expressing myself and things that I’d like to do and just the timing of everything, I think it was… when you say mutual, it means partially to somebody that you’ve been forced out the door or treated poorly or what have you, which really wasn’t the case,” Ross said. “It was something that we had talked about kinda casually and it just seemed like, the way [with] the lay of the land, it was just good timing.
“So, you know, it’s just… I’m not really a negative guy, you and I have talked a few times, I’m always pretty upbeat. I kinda look at the glass half full as opposed to half empty. I had some health issues, thank God I’m over those. I’m feeling really, really good, I’m taking good care of myself. So, I just think it was the right time, with everything presented as it was, it was just the very best decision to make and now we’re gonna move on to the next thing.”
