variety.com/2014/film/news/rock-the-kasbah-bill-murray-april-2015-release-1201286853/Bill Murray is taking Kabul by storm next spring. The reclusive comedic genius and houseparty guest extraordinaire is headlining “Rock the Kasbah,” which Open Road Films announced it will release nationwide April 24. Right now the film has the date all to itself. The previous week will see the release of the Ryan Reynolds’ sci-fi thriller “Selfless” and “Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2,” and the first week of May boasts the debut of a little film called “Avengers 2: Age of Ultron.” The film finds Murray as a has-been rock manager who takes his sole client on a USO tour of Afghanistan, only to find himself penniless and without his passport. Abandoned in the country, he finds a young girl with a mean set of pipes and makes her a star through Afghanistan’s version of “Idol.” Bruce Willis, Kate Hudson, Zooey Deschanel, Danny McBride and Scott Caan round out the cast. Barry Levinson directs from a script by Mitch Glazer.
