PRO WRESTLING NEWS:
---9/8 WWE RESULTS FROM BROOKLYN, NY
Quick results from WWE Live at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY:
Dean Ambrose beat RVD to retain the US Championship.
The team of Sami Zayn and Bo Dallas beat Jack Swagger and the non-American Antonio Cesaro when Zayn pinned Swagger. Zayn was over huge here, seemed like the whole arena was chanting Ole!
Brie Bella and Natalya came out and the fans voted on them having a dance off over a match, Brie did her dance and then attacked Natalya, leading up to them having a match anyway, which Natalya won with the sharpshooter.
CM Punk beat Curtis Axel in a non-title match.
Tyson Kidd beat Drew McIntyre.
The Shield beat The Usos to retain the tag team championship.
Daniel Bryan beat Randy Orton by DQ when The Shield ran in... Big Show, who was forced to sit ringside and told not to interfere by Brad Maddox, finally came in to assist Bryan after the bell rang...
Overall decent card, only wish Bryan got as much offense in on Raw as he does when it doesn't really matter on a house show! Surprising how many empty seats in the arena, the very top section was tapered off and there were still quite a few empty sections...
---With ticket sales slow, TNA will benefit the community by giving away free tickets for Thursday's No Surrender tapings. If you donate five nonperishable food items to Slumberland Furniture on 4265 Rusty Road, you will get a free ticket for the show.
---Hulk Hogan got a lot of publicity as he was on the sidelines of yesterday's Dallas Cowboys game with the New York Giants at Cowboys Stadium, since Brooke Hogan is engaged to Phil Costa of the Cowboys. Ever the showman, Hogan was wearing a New York Giants shirt when shown on TV, got booed loudly, tore the short off and had a Cowboys sleeveless shirt underneath. LeBron James was there, and even though he was dressed in Cowboys merch, they still booed him.

---Sheldon Goldberg's New England Championship Wrestling held their 13th Anniversary show over the weekend in Beverly, MA at the Cove Center. The show drew an overflow 200+ with a lot of fans standing. The promotion was really happy with the strong walk-up the day of the show and credited it to the weekly TV show and local promotion. The main event saw Sean Burke & Jeremy Prophet defeating NECW Heavyweight Champion Antonio Thomas (the title was on the line even though it was a tag team match) & Slyck Wagner Brown when Prophet pinned Slyck with a handful of tights. That led to Burke challenging Thomas to a Best 2 out of 3 falls match next time in Beverly on 10/4. Paul Richards, who refereed for WWF and ECW, is back here as General Manager of the company behind the scenes. Joe Matterazzo (who used to do the Mouthpiece Wrestling Show with myself and Sheldon) is also back working here and helping out. Other matches on the show included Jason Rumble and Beau Douglas going to a double KO in a Boston Street Fight when neither could answer the bell, NECW Tag Team Championship: Champions Mike Webb & Nick Farenheight defeated Da House Party (who are a great team out of NYC), NECW TV champ Johnny Thunder defeating Scott Levesque, and Mistress Belmont & Nikki Valentine defeating World Women’s Wrestling Champion Alexxis Nevaeh & Kasey Ray. Ray is often paired with ROH star Matt Taven. The promotion has a 9/28 date in Derry, New Hampshire.
--A lot of names popped up at the NWA Southern All Star taping on 9/6 in Millerville, TN. Cliff Compton was in and worked several bouts, including losing to former TNA star Crimson in what may have been Crimson's first post-knee surgery bout. Kid Kash lost to Chris Michaels, while former TNA Gutcheck winner Taeler Hendrix defeated Heide Lovelace. Doug Gilbert vs. Brian Christopher and Ricky Morton are also scheduled.
---Speaking of the incomparable Cliff Compton, you can order his official t-shirts and more from our friends at .
---Lots going on with Pro Wrestling Syndicate, which is running a ton of shows in the next few months. In the best news possible for the promotion, PWS is returning to the Rahway Rec Center, which was badly damaged by Hurricane Sandy for the first time on 9/20 with PWS champ Kevin Matthews vs. Alex Reynolds, Buff Bagwell vs. Colt Cabana, Jake Roberts, Dan Maff, King Kong Bundy, Justin Credible, The Big O, Facade, Pat Buck and more. On 9/21, they are holding a free show as part of a Street Fair in Edison, NJ headlined by Big O vs. Dan Maff. The promotion's women's offshoot, PWS Bombshell Ladies of Wrestling, will be running an iPPV on 9/28 in Iselin, NJ with Leilani Kai vs. Sumi Sakai and The Backseat Girlz (Missy Sampson & Annie Social, doing a tribute to the Backseat Boyz team) vs. Amazing Kong & La Rosa Negra plus Angelina Love, Veda Scott and more. That will be followed by a student show featuring talents from their Academy.
---The Heart Throbs (or, if you prefer their OVW name, the Heart Breakers) will be reuniting at the 10/26 Pro Wrestling Syndicate event in Rahway, NJ. Also announced for that show is the amusing tag team of Sgt. Slaughter & Starman (playing off the old videogame character) facing Cobra Commander & The Sheik. That has to be the first time Slaughter has done anything facing a G.I. Joe themed character. Also set for 10/26 are Disco Inferno, Blue Meanie (I hope for a dance-off against each other!), Justin Credible, Lita, The Boogeyman and more. For more details, visit www.prowrestlingsyndicate.com.
---Pro Wrestling Guerrilla in Reseda, CA will return to action on 10/19 following their Battle of Los Angeles tournament weekend, which was said to have been awesome. Headlining the show is PWG champion Adam Cole vs. BOLA winner Kyle O'Reilly, plus Johnny Gargano vs. Roderick Strong, Chuck Taylor & Trent Baretta vs. Rich Swann & AR Fox, Brian Cage vs. Tommaso Ciampa vs. Tony Nese vs. Drake Younger, Candice LeRae & Joey Ryan vs. The Young Bucks and more. Tickets go on sale on 9/19 at www.prowrestlingguerrilla.com.
