Ka-Zar The Savage #6
A Retro Review
Published by Marvel Comics in 1981 for $.50
Writer-Bruce Jones Plot- Bruce Jones and Brent Anderson Art- Brent Anderson and Carlos Garzon
Now I know why in 1981, as a 7 year old kid, I did not read Ka-Zar on a regular basis. I use to go to 7-11 on my bike with my dad. He would allow me one comic book and a slurpie. Ka-zar was always a book I would get if there was nothing else. Ka-Zar and Shanna the She-Devil are in the Savage Land (Jungle near Antarctica) where Shanna is starting to have visions of this dude that appears and disappears. They get attacked by a giant, mutant scorpion and it nicks Ka-Zar. He goes down from th epoison and Shanna turns to the dude she sees disappear for help. He is in astral Projection form and he is a survivor of Atlantis. He has his body stored in a machine in a cave that has the cure for Ka-Zar. He takes he there and they get the antidote for the poison , but the Atlantean dies because he was away from his body too long. This story is a time filler , but it is a bore. They also skip over the entire Marvel Atlantis legacy with the Sub-Mariner, so this makes no sense. Skip this if you ever run across this issue.
