variety.com/2014/film/news/james-gunn-finished-guardians-of-the-galaxy-1201258910/James Gunn Just Finished Work on ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ Two years after starting the project and less than a month before its release, James Gunn has officially wrapped post-production on “Guardians of the Galaxy.” Gunn announced the news on Facebook and tweeted that he’s now passing the Marvel baton to Peyton Reed, who will begin shooting “Ant-Man” within the next few months. Gunn described the process as the best experience of his life. “Well, other than finalizing the 3D, I’m officially wrapped on Guardians of the Galaxy and on my way to the airport to fly to Singapore to begin the press wing of this journey,” he wrote on Facebook. “I saw some amazing VFX shots today to wraps things up. I couldn’t be feeling more gratitude and love for all the people who have helped create this film. However the audiences take it, there’s not a single dishonest or impure bone in Guardians’ cinematic body – and that’s a hell of a thing for a spectacle film of this size with so many people involved. Best experience of my life. Thank you all.” He recently expressed fear and sadness about letting the film go. “I think the Marvel producers are starting to understand my almost psychotic inability to be happy with anything, and to pick apart things to the very bitter end,” he wrote on Facebook. “They’re going to have to tear this movie from my bloody grip.” It looks like Marvel won that battle. “Guardians of the Galaxy,” which stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper (the voice of Rocket) and Vin Diesel (the voice of Groot), hits theaters on August 1.
