Two Florida Heavyweight Championship Title Changes this Weekend!
On Friday night in Ybor City, former NFL player, the 6'5" 295 lb. Quinn "Moose" Ojinnaka challenged Hercules Gomez for the Florida Heavyweight Championship. Ojinnaka practically wiped the floor with Gomez leaving him a bloody mess in the ring. Saturday, Ojinnaka was scheduled to defend the title in a 3-way elimination match with Gomez and Rhett Giddins. However, Gomez was so beat up that there's a chance we may never see him physically or emotionally ready to compete again. This did not stop the 6'4" 252 lb. Rhett "The Freak" Giddins from going toe-to-toe with the new champion.
In the main event, Giddins toppled the new heavyweight champion and defeated him with a flying top rope cross body block pin. Everyone in the crowd went nuts for the new champion! Giddins ended Ojinnaka's one day reign which was the second shortest reign next to Aaron Epic who held the title for two minutes before losing it to Chasyn Rance back in 2008.
On Sunday, May 25, there will be an over the top rope battle royal to determine Rhett Giddins next challenger. It will be an open invitational battle royal to anyone who feels they are the best professional wrestler in Florida. They'll have a big obstacle to over come in facing Rhett Giddins but first, a multiple man battle royal that could have anywhere from 20 to 50 to over 100 wrestlers vying for that next championship match!
