variety.com/2014/tv/news/spike-tv-orders-six-hour-tut-series-1201171993/It looks like King Tut will be reincarnated onto the smallscreen. Spike TV is bringing back the Egyptian pharaoh in its new special-event series, “Tut,” which will tell the story of Egypt’s legendary leader Tutankhamun. This scripted series will be the cabler’s first in eight years. Michael Vickerman, Peter Paige and Bradley Bredeweg (“The Fosters”) are writing the scripts for Muse Entertainment. The six-hour event will tell the story of Tut’s rise to power and his struggle to lead Egypt to glory, all while his closest advisers, friends and lovers scheme to advance their own nefarious interests. “Tut” will be shot entirely in Morocco and Canada this fall and will debut on Spike in 2015. “Tut” exec producers are Vickerman, Greg Gugliotta (“The Fosters”) and Elice Island Entertainment’s Jeremy Elice and Angela Mancuso (“Spartacus,” “Helen of Troy”).
