WWE released several NXT talents this afternoon.
Mason Ryan, a Welsh talent who had been brought up to the main roster for a short period of time as a member of the Nexus while it was under CM Punk's control. Ryan had been pushed in NXT as a big monster type but had disappeared from TV in recent months. He returned to TV on the last episode of NXT, losing to Tyson Kidd.
Shaul Guerrero, the daughter of Eddie and Vickie Guerrero, who was in her second WWE developmental run. She was part of an early version of The Ascension during her first run and had not been used on TV during this run.
Oliver Grey, a British talent, who had just returned from a knee injury after being out for quite some time, losing to Camacho on NXT TV. He was formerly a tag team partner of Adrian Neville, who had been moved into a big singles role while Grey was injury.
Danny Burch, a British talent, had been signed since 2011. He debuted on NXT TV in 2013 but had never been given a regular role or push.

Former WWE NXT talent Mason Ryan tweeted the following about his WWE departure:
"After four great years with the WWE, as of today I am no longer with the company. I enjoyed every second of my time there, met some great people and got to entertain audiences all over the world! I am very thankful for the opportunity I was given, but now I move on to another chapter of my life. I'm going to work as hard and have the same hunger and attitude I always have, which is the desire to be the very best! This definitely isn't the end, in fact it's just a new beginning and I look forward to the future and all that it brings!
I am still going to be wrestling, and I'm available for shows and conventions, please contact me at welsh.warrior@outlook.com for any bookings.
Thank you everyone for the support!"

Raquel Diaz (Shaul Guerrero) was being re-packaged with Baron Corbin in some kind of a biker gimmick so it appears the decision to release her was made in the last week or so.
No word yet if Corbin will keep the gimmick and just get a new valet.

Mason Ryan’s recent release from WWE NXT surprised some people, because he was generally well-liked, had a very impressive look and was from the UK (Wales), which would have been a draw when the company tours overseas. That said, his ring work was not progressing fast enough and the company apparently decided it was better to free up space at developmental.

Regarding the recent WWE release of NXT star Danny Burch, there was said to be a feeling among officials in the company that Burch was given up on after he returned from his knee operation. Burch is 32 years old and the company is putting the emphasis in developmental on younger talent.
