Reports from local sources all over the world are pouring in about the Avengers: Age of Ultron team securing possible locations for the upcoming shoot, and Comic Book Movie have compiled a list that includes stops in Italy, South Africa and South Korea.
For the Italy segment, a fan translated this from an Italian press conference:
During the past year there was an ongoing exchange with the production, that visited the region many times. Besides Bard, where the main unit will shoot, filming will take place also in Aosta, Donnas, Point-St-Martin and Verres, all locations chosen by Joss Whedon.
Bard is a historical stronghold (pictured above) and quite dramatic looking, no? “Many scenes” will take place there, if the report is correct.
And as for the Korea filming, AllKPop says despite a Twitter denial from Mark Ruffalo, reps for the movie have confirmed:
about 10 to 15 minutes of the ‘Avengers 2′ movie will feature Korea with filming to take place in Gangnam and Gyeonggi-do. Among the fiercely competitive movie enterprises in Korea, one was chosen to be in charge and will provide a team with the best Korean staff members at its core.
So, a lot of rumors out there, and it’ll be hard to lock down which locations they will actually end up using until they’re on the ground, but it looks like Joss Whedon wasn’t kidding when he said the sequel would be more global:
A lot of the movie has to do with (The Avengers’) place not only in America but in the world.
The bulk of filming, though, will be on sound stages at Pinewood-Shepperton in the UK.
