www.pwinsider.com/article/114233/vince-mcmahon-forms-new-entertainment-company-possibly-in-advance-of-xfl-relaunch.html?p=1VINCE MCMAHON FORMS NEW ENTERTAINMENT COMPANY, POSSIBLY IN ADVANCE OF XFL RELAUNCH By Mike Johnson on 2017-12-16 14:55:00 A interesting development began last night after a Twitter user claimed that Vince McMahon would announce the revival of the WWE's former football league, the XFL, which existed for one season in 2001, next month. In seeking to confirm the validity of the story, a writer for Deadspin.com, David Bixenspan, received a statement from WWE, which revealed Vince McMahon has formed a new company, Alpha Entertainment, with the eye on making personal investments into sports and entertainment franchises, including a potential football league. During the XFL ESPN 30 for 30 documentary, the final scene is a dinner between McMahon and legendary NBC sports executive Dick Ebersol where they ponder what would happen if they attempted to launch the XFL today, including McMahon admitting he had recent discussions with Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones about what was described as a "minor league NFL." WWE revived the trademark XFL last year. So, stay tuned.

www.f4wonline.com/wwe-news/vince-mcmahon-sells-100-million-wwe-stock-alpha-entertainment-248426VINCE MCMAHON SELLS $100 MILLION OF WWE STOCK FOR ALPHA ENTERTAINMENT BY JOSH NASON | @joshnason | DEC 21, 2017 4:13 PM In a move that could indicate a big step toward getting involved with professional football, WWE chairman Vince McMahon sold 3.34 million Class A common shares of company stock Thursday for what could be in the ballpark of $100+ million dollars. As noted in the SEC filing, "Mr. McMahon executed the sale primarily to fund a separate entity from the Company, Alpha Entertainment LLC, which Mr. McMahon established to explore investment opportunities across the sports and entertainment landscapes, including professional football. Mr. McMahon has informed the Company that he has no current plan to sell additional shares of the Company’s stock and that he intends to continue in his capacity as the Company’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer for the foreseeable future. "The shares sold by Mr. McMahon represent approximately 4.3% of the Company’s total outstanding shares of Class A and Class B common stock. After the sale, Mr. McMahon beneficially owns 32,193,375 shares of the Company’s Class B common stock, which represents approximately 82.8% of the Company’s total voting power and approximately 41.8% of the Company’s total outstanding shares of common stock." After hours trading saw the stock drop to $30.80/share. Over the weekend, it broke that McMahon could be looking to bring back the XFL and make the announcement as early as January which led to a further reveal about the creation of Alpha Entertainment. Earlier this month, Alpha Entertainment applied for five new XFL trademarks that cover the league restarting and merchandise. Additionally, they would like to trademark 'URFL'.

www.pwinsider.com/article/114466/vince-mcmahon-football-trademark-updates.html?p=1VINCE MCMAHON FOOTBALL TRADEMARK UPDATES By Steven Fernandes on 2017-12-30 02:08:00 The "UFL" trademark filed by VKM Ventures has been given an initial refusal due to potential conflict with another "UFL" trademark that is in the process of being trademarked. The Urban Fitness League filed for a "UFL" trademark in January 2017 for fitness and weightlifting purposes. So, until that trademark is finalized, work on VKM Ventures' application could be suspended unless VKM Ventures can provide valid arguments that there will not be any conflicts arising. The refusal notice also noted that the classification and identification of goods and services need to be amended to provide a clear understanding of why they are applying for the trademark. The notice also mentioned that the company applied for eight different classes, but only provided a processing fee that was sufficient for one class. The "United Football League" trademark seems to be moving forward thus far. There is an active "United Football League" trademark registered in 2010 that was filed by, ine would assume, the original United Football League organization, so we don't know if that will come into play or not. As far as Alpha Entertainment's "XFL" trademarks, there won't be any movement on thise until around March 16th (if not sooner) due to the 3-month waiting period for new trademark applications.

A number of their companies (Adidas AG, Adidas America Inc., Adidas International Marketing BV) have requested additional time with the USPTO to oppose Alpha trademarking their logo. The implication is that Alpha's logo may be seen as infringing on Adidas' logo. Adidas will have until 3/6/2019 to file an opposition or request another extension.

www.wrestlinginc.com/news/2018/11/first-city-to-receive-an-xfl-team-in-2020-revealed-648279/First City To Receive An XFL Team In 2020 Revealed The XFL will be bringing a team to St. Louis for its revival in 2020, according to a report by KSDK. It was noted that the remaining seven cities receiving teams will be announced next week. St. Louis was the home of the Rams before the team moved to Los Angeles at the end of the 2015 NFL season. According to the report, the new St. Louis XFL team will play 10 games in its inaugural 2020 season, with five of them being held at the Dome at America's Center. The XFL is scheduled to launch in 2020 with the league owning all eight teams. An SEC filing this past May revealed that WWE is a minority owner for the league. Vince McMahon sold $100 million worth of WWE stock back in December to help launch the parent company of the league, Alpha Entertainment, and told insiders that he expected to spend an estimated $500 million in the first three years of operations. Chris Rowden contributed to this article.

Earlier this week, a report from KSDK surfaced suggesting that St. Louis has been the first team confirmed to receive an XFL team for the 2020 league. Now, Brad Shepard reports that Seattle is the second city that will receive an XFL team when the league makes the official announcement on December 5th: Also, Pablo Maurer from The Athletic has reported that a third city, Washington D.C., will also have an XFL team. The Washington team will reportedly play their games at Audi Field, which fits about 20,000 fans: To recap, the three cities reported thus far are St. Louis, Seattle, and Washington D.C. The initial report from KSDK announcing St. Louis as the first XFL team provided some insight into the league’s planned schedule. The report states that there will be 10 regular season games, with half of those being played at the respective home team’s stadium. As for rule changes and things that will differ from the NFL, those have yet to be confirmed. However, it will likely be addressed in the XFL live stream scheduled for December 5th.
