Despite other reports, we can only confirm that he will be part of the broadcast. We also cannot confirm that Ross has signed any type of WWE contract. The 65-year-old has been out of WWE since "retiring" from the company in September 2013 following controversy surrounding a panel discussion he hosted in August as part of a video game release. Ross returned to pro wrestling announcing with New Japan Pro Wrestling in January 2015 as part of Wrestle Kingdom 9. He later would sign a deal with AXS TV and replaced Mauro Ranallo as the lead play-by-play announcer for NJPW on AXS TV series when Ranallo headed to WWE. He also dabbled in boxing announcing for Fox Sports One as well as some MMA play-by-play in addition to launching his popular Ross Report podcast. If Ross was to return to the booth, even for one match, it's easy to point to either Goldberg vs. Lesnar or the Undertaker vs. Roman Reigns, the latter expected to be the main event of WrestleMania. Ross calling the main event would lead to obvious speculation that Sunday is Undertaker's final match. We'll have more on this story as details emerge and on the next edition of Wrestling Observer Radio.
