Thandie Newton in Talks to Join Han Solo 'Star Wars' Spinoff Movie
Donald Glover, Emilia Clarke and Woody Harrelson are also on the call sheet. Westworld star Thandie Newton is in talks to join the cast of the Han Solo Star Wars spinoff movie, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.
Alden Ehrenreich is starring in the movie, which began shooting last week with Phil Lord and Chris Miller in the director’s chair.
Like all Star Wars projects, the movie has a veil of secrecy surrounding it but it does have Donald Glover, Emilia Clarke and Woody Harrelson on the call sheet.
Details of Newton’s character were being kept locked tight.
Newton is currently having a bit of a resurgence thanks for her work on HBO’s Westworld, the edge sci-fi drama that earned her Golden Globe and SAG award nominations. She is currently shooting The Death and Life of John F. Donovan, the new drama from French-Canadian filmmaker Xavier Dolan.
