Jeremy Gold, Marci Wiseman Named Co-Presidents of Blumhouse TV
Jason Blum is looking to expand his fast-growing television operation with the appointments of Endemol Shine’s Jeremy Gold and Entertainment One’s Marci Wiseman as co-presidents of Blumhouse TV.
The pair will oversee scripted and unscripted TV for the banner that has produced shows as varied as HBO’s “The Jinx: The Life and Deaths of Robert Durst” and “The Normal Heart” to GSN’s “Hellevator.” Blumhouse TV has a production pact with Universal Cable Productions.
Jessica Rhoades, who helped launch Blumhouse TV, will serve as exec VP and head of programming and development under Gold and Wiseman. The TV co-presidents report to Blum and Blumhouse president Charles Layton.
“Blumhouse is committed to telling genre stories across all screens and we are so excited to take our television division to the next level,” Blum said. “Charles, Jessica and I have long admired Marci’s and Jeremy’s remarkable track record of growing television businesses and are thrilled to have them on board as we transform Blumhouse Television and build on the remarkable foundation laid by Jessica.”
Gold had been with Endemol since 2008, most recently serving as exec VP of Endemol Shine Studios. Before that he worked in comedy developing at Fox and 20th Century Fox TV.
Wiseman joined eOne last year as exec VP of global production and business affairs. She was previously a top AMC Networks exec who helped launch the AMC Studios banner and spearheaded co-production pacts for such series as “The Night Manager” and “Humans.”
“It is a great privilege to join Blumhouse Television to reinforce the Blumhouse brand as a destination for established and gifted writers, directors, and storytellers with a unique voice to create bold original programming that can travel across multiple platforms globally,” Gold and Wiseman said in a statement.
Blumhouse TV’s upcoming projects include the HBO drama “Sharp Objects” starring Amy Adams.
