Writer-director Jeremy LaLonde’s flick will get a day-and-date theatrical/VOD release on May 13. The action is set in Beaver’s Ridge (nudge-nudge), a wholesome, tightknit community known for its family values. But things get spicy when shunned Gravitas Ventures“town slut”-turned-sex columnist Cassie (Jewel Staite) returns for mom’s funeral. She had labeled the town prudish in her big-city writing gig, but upon her return, a group of eclectic town folk are inspired to try to plan an orgy and beg Cassie to serve as their mentor. Each person’s ulterior motive is revealed, and the orgy – which is awkward all on its own – takes on a surprise new meaning. Lauren Holly, Ennis Esmer, Jonas Chernick, Kristian Bruun, Mark O’Brien and Katharine Isabelle co-star. “The characters in this film manage to be hilarious and a little crazy while also being relatable,” said Dan Fisher, senior director of acquisitions for Gravitas. “How to Plan an Orgy in a Small Town is the definitive guide to planning an orgy in a small town, and we are delighted to bring this warm, winning and downright dirty comedy to audiences across the U.S.” Fisher negotiated the deal for Gravitas Ventures with Jason Moring of DDI on behalf of the filmmakers.
