deadline.com/2016/01/relativity-names-tamoor-shafi-chief-digital-officer-1201685957/Relativity continues to put together its new executive team, the latest being Tamoor Shafi, founder and CEO of Omnia Media, who was just named to the post of Chief Digital Officer. This comes after the company’s appointment last week of Kenneth Halsband, adding the job of Chief Operating Officer and only two weeks after the newly minted Relativity Studios Chairman Kevin Spacey and President Dana Brunetti, who joined the company after Relativity’s acquisition of Trigger Street Productions. Shafi, only 24 years old, will report directly to Ryan Kavanaugh, Chairman and CEO of Relativity All these moves come as Relativity is emerging from Chapter 11 Bankruptcy and is readying to push out its first film in a long while — The Disappointments Room (starring Kate Beckinsale) scheduled for March 25th. Shafi will lead digital marketing and brand partnerships for the company, and oversee Relativity Digital Studios, which released its first feature-length film, Summer Forever last July. He is charged with working to further build out Quantum, Relativity’s digital platform, grow the sales division and oversee the expansion of the content division as well as exploring new platforms and technologies. Shafi founded digital media company Omnia Media in 2013 first as an online video network and it now has offices in Los Angeles, New York, Vietnam and Toronto. It currently boasts 1.8 billion monthly views. He sold his company this month. Omnia is a competitive platform to Maker Studios.
