Binder, who most recently directed Black Or White with Kevin Costner and Octavia Spencer, will write and direct the film. Atlas Entertainment’s Charles Roven and Alex Gartner will produce. Richard Brener will oversee for New Line. The book is an action thriller that mixes current events, politics, conspiracy and terrorism within 10 Downing Street. An American man gets caught up in an international incident and a female MI6 inspector is tasked with bringing him in. Atlas Entertainment’s Gartner and Binder previously collaborated on The Upside Of Anger and Gartner was exec producer of Black Or White. Binder also wrote and directed Reign Over Me and created the Emmy-winning HBO series The Mind Of The Married Man. He still has a hand in cable, as he’s a co-exec producer and writer on the Showtime series Ray Donovan. It’s Binder’s second New Line deal, after he adapted the Garth Callaghan memoir The Napkin Notes for Reese Witherspoon and Bruna Papandrea’s Pacific Standard. Binder is repped by Verve, and Gernert Company’s David Gernert.
