The film recorded $6.9 million on 522,000 admissions for the Jan. 2-3 weekend. As of Jan.3 its cumulative total amounted to $54 million from 4.1 million admissions. The number one film for two straight weekends, the RPG-game-based animation “Yo-Kai Watch the Movie 2: King Enma and the 5 Stories, Nyan!,” fell to second place with $3.14 million on 322,000 admissions, while its cash total rose to $31 million. “Creed” climbed into the top ten after bowing at number 11 the previous weekend. Playing on 255 screens, the film earned $379,000, for an 8% weekend-on-weekend gain, while boosting its cumulative to $1.6 million.
